Cheers to CBS’s Tour of Duty (left) and Wiseguy for adding a note of realism to prime time by killing off ongoing characters this season. On Tour of Duty, Capt. Rusty Wallace (Kevin Conroy) and medic “Doc” Matsuda (Steve Akahoshi) died in action. On Wiseguy, bad guys Sonny Steelgrave (Ray Sharkey, below) and Mel Profitt (Kevin Spacey) were rubbed out. The introduction of mortality lends these television dramas considerably more credibility.
